System and software development process support, and Independent Validation and Verification (IV&V) for mainframe, midrange, and NT accounting systems. (September, 1998 – January, 2000) Senior consultant to US Postal Service’s payroll and accounting center. Includes Year2000 code analysis, primary and delta test plan development, and technical assistance in test data generation, aging, and test execution. System and process owner including USPS calendar expert, and special projects including work on an SCM survey of the Postal financia l service’s practices and recommendations toward CMM maturity improvements.
Point of Sale (POS) Quality Assurance and Year 2000 Compliance. (July, 1997 - May, 1998) Senior tester providing SQA to development and deployment of the POS system for US Postal Service. Areas of special responsibility include Year 2000, accounting f unctionality, and the perpetual inventory subsystems.
Document Management. (March, 1996 – Sept, 1997) Physical storage of documents with electronic barcode tracking. System architecture, design, programming, accounting, and testing.
Warehouse Accounting / Administration. (Oct 1995 – Sept, 1997) Tracked customers, deposits, payments, invoicing, and general accounting for mini-warehouses – full life cycle.
Voter Registration for County Government. (April, 1991 - current) Novell network of 10 diskless workstations and a Novell server. Voter registrations, elections, absentee voting, poll working, site inventories, conformance to state regulations. Desig n, programming, testing, and system administration.
Y2K Newsletter. (Nov, 1996 - Feb, 2000) Web-published a newsletter on Year 2000 problem, 2K-Times, a well-read international newsletter on the subject. Topics include awareness issues, migration tools, and compliance efforts.
Circuit Court Infractions Division. (Jan, 1991 – Jan, 1994) Tracking system for 16,000 traffic citations a year in the Circuit Court jurisdiction for a pilot process. Design, programming, testing, and training. As the rules were being developed and refined by legislation, continuing maintenance was required over a 3 year period.
Timesharing Administration. (Jan, 1980 - Dec, 1992) Administered a PRIME minicomputer based service bureau for timesharing, providing customized order entry/accounting/sales support for retail and field rep sales support. Clients included a major har dware distributor (with 10K item inventory), an automotive solid-state electronics parts manufacturer, and a greetings card publisher.
Census/Demographics. (1973 - 1976) Research study for U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), on job creation/loss. Required use of Very Large Data Base organization (VLDB) of census and social security data.
Laboratory Equipment. (1968 - 1971) Interfacing of gas-liquid chromotography and mass spectrometer instrumentation to an SDS-Sigma 7 laboratory computer for real-time data acquisition and analysis of data.
