The bluegill is an olive green colored fish with a gold or orange colored belly. They have a uniform blue-black marking which is how they get the name bluegill.
Most bluegill reach about 6 inches but can grow up to 10 inches. They spawn later than bass throughout the summer during the warm water temperatures.
These fish will take pellet feed, eat insects, worms and other natural pond food.
