ANSEL TONEY KITE FESTIVAL

We'd like to invite you to a very unique and entertaining event that the entire family can enjoy. The Ansel Toney Memorial Kite Festival. Ansel Toney was a kiteflier, kitemaker and great man who was officially recognized by the State of Indiana as "Kiteman of Indiana" and has been an inspiration to kite enthusiasts from all over the country. The Hoosier Kitefliers Society is honoring his memory and family name by hosting a kite festival at the Academy of Model Aeronautics in Muncie, Indiana on May 1st, 2004. This festival will be recognized officially by the American Kitefliers Association and many great kites and fliers will be attending from all over the Midwest.

Children's "make and take" workshop. Kids get to fly the kites they build! Kids get a real sense of satisfaction when they fly the kite that they made themselves, and is evident by the smiles on their faces.
Kite experts will display extremely large kites such as the "Octopus" or "Lesters Legs" which are over 100 feet long!!
"Grand Ascensions" of kites made by the great Ansel Toney.
Multi-line "sport" kite flying. It's something a lot of people have never seen before. You'll be amazed by the skill and control of the fliers and how they make kites dance to musical selections.
