A Bug's Muck Command Guide
Orienting yourself in a muck and getting used to all the commands can be a lot to learn. The learning curve is even more challenging when you have lots of new terms, acronyms and odd emoticons thrown at you at the same time. This glossary is meant to explain and de-mystify such things so you can get on with mucking. Although written for new visitors to A Bug's Muck, much of this guide is applicable to other mucks as well.

Muck commands often take variable components called parameters. I'll indicate the parameter portion like this: <xyz> where 'xyz' indicates the sort of thing you should type in place of <xyz>. For example, the 'look' command expects you to give it an object to look at: look <object>. You would actually type something like: 'look flower'.

Many commands have help. Type '<command> #help' to see if a command has help. For example: look #help.

Status is an easy way to signal these things to other players. Many things reveal status, including the 'find' command. You can set your status by typing a simple two or three letter command. Here are the status commands and their meanings:

Creating Your Own Stuff

Once you get used to moving around the muck and looking at all the things other people have built, you'll probably want to start making your own rooms and objects. This will help you get started.

That's all, folks!
