Fescue Farms Angus

Since 1991 Fescue Farms Angus has been building for the future.  Acquiring 80 acres in Owen County, Indiana, the farm started with 2 black baldy cows.  Those early beginnings were the start of unique adventure.  Through assistance of the Jim Patton, Wilson Cattle Company, and Steve Patton at Roth Angus, and numerous other members of the Indiana Angus Association, our registered cow herd now consists of 25 cows.  Two of these are the base of our future.  Two full GDAR Russ sisters will be the featured donors.  Two other super nice bred heifers make up our future base.  One a HBR Omaha Clint and the other WCC Blackcap were competitive in the show ring all through 1999 - 2000.  In addition to these, we were fortunate to purchase a February 2000 Famous 7001 heifer (picture on the home page), and a super nice April Famous 7001 heifer we raised out of a Fullback daughter, September Roth Blacklass 1368 with a September 8, 2003 Big River heifer calf .  We also have the maternal sister to the 1368 heifer out of Right Time.  In 2004 the September heifer calf below went on to become division champion at the Indiana Open Show (Picture on front page) and a May Dameron/PVF Proven Queen heifer was named Reserve Grand Champion at the Indiana State Fair Open Show.  Now flushing the Proven Queen Cow.  Current flushes, PVF New Horizon and 3000C.  In recent years Alan Miller and Dameron Angus in Illinois have been an asset to our cattle program.  The Proven Queen cow family has become an important part of our cow herd.

The past several years the show ring as been very good to us.  Division winners, reserve division, class winners at state and national shows and Grand steer and Supreme heifer at our county fair.

We are trying to produce cattle that are easy keepers, grow well, and have eye appeal.  We welcome visitors and your phone inquiries.
